This property is ideally situated on a hill with no visible or audible road overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea from the Gulf of Follonica. The Tyrrhenian Sea is part of the Mediterranean Sea and lies to the west of the Italian mainland, below the islands of Sardinia, Corsica and Sicily. Follonica is a beautiful Mediterranean town that has developed on the homonymous gulf between Piombino and Punta Ala. In addition to the famous beaches such as Cala Violina and Casetta Civinini and the long promenades along the sea, Follonica offers folkloristic events such as the famous Carnevale Follonichese, which every year during the four Sundays between the end of January and the beginning of February presents carnival floats of the six different districts with allegorical masks. Near Follonica is the beautiful medieval town of Massa Marittima (15 km away) which, in addition to the splendid medieval palaces, attracts millions of tourists from all over Italy every year in May and August to see the Balestro del Girifalco. Punta Ala (17 km away): one of the most beautiful seaside resorts which, together with Castiglione della Pescaia and Follonica, boasts crystal-clear waters that have even won the Blue Flag. Among the many sports activities practiced in Punta Ala, the most popular is golf, which is particularly promoted by the tourist structures of the area. Castiglione della Pescaia (20 km away): the town has become famous both for its beautiful harbor and for its tourist attractions, such as the fortress of Castiglione, 540 m high, which is like a perfect frame of the Capes. Populonia and Baratti (29 km away): Populonia is an ancient Etruscan town that rises on a hill and is surrounded by the sea. It still preserves the old medieval walls that defended it from pirates in the past. It is famous for its fortress, from the top of which you can admire an extraordinary panorama of the Tuscan archipelago. Suvereto (26 km away): ancient medieval castle, built between the eleventh and fourteenth centuries, rich in history and culture but also in popular festivals and folkloristic events. Short cruises or other boat trips to the beautiful islands of the archipelago are waiting to be discovered. Rome airport 2 hours away, Pisa airport 1 hour away.
